The Fighter Candle

Assembling The Adventuring Party
When I first created the Basic Heroes Set, I did not want it to feel like four random fantasy candles placed together in a box. I wanted it to feel like the beginning of an actual campaign. The kind that starts in a crowded tavern somewhere on the edge of civilization, where rumors spread about forgotten ruins beneath the mountains and entire caravans vanishing near the old dragon roads. Every adventurer has their own reason for accepting the quest. Gold. Glory. Knowledge. Redemption. But they all understand the same truth. No one survives the depths alone.
So I assembled the party the only way an old dungeon master would understand. A hardened Fighter to stand between the group and whatever horrors wait in the dark. A Thief willing to slip ahead where traps and shadows gather. A Wizard obsessed enough with forbidden knowledge to risk descending into ancient ruins beneath the earth. And finally, a Cleric carrying enough faith to hold the entire group together when things begin to fall apart. Together, they represent the foundation of nearly every classic fantasy adventure ever told.
As I worked on each candle, I tried to imagine what these characters would actually smell like if they stepped out of a dungeon and into the room beside you. The Fighter carries smoke, leather, and whiskey from nights spent beside campfires sharpening blades. The Thief smells of damp streets, shadowed taverns, and secrets traded beneath lantern light. The Wizard feels like old libraries and arcane studies lit by flickering candles deep into the night. The Cleric brings warmth, sacred herbs, and the calm presence of someone who has stared into darkness and kept their faith intact.
What I love most about tabletop RPGs is that the story is never truly about the treasure. It is about the people you survive alongside. The close calls. The betrayals. The laughter around the table after a disastrous dice roll changes everything. These candles were designed to capture that atmosphere. Not just fantasy aesthetics, but the feeling of gathering your party before descending into places where monsters, forgotten kings, and dragons still guard the treasures of the deep.

With proper care, each candle offers an approximate burn time of 45–60 hours, allowing your party to accompany you through countless dungeon crawls, tavern gatherings, and encounters with creatures lurking beneath the mountains. Burn Tips (Recommended)
